What it is
Remedial Sports Massage is a targeted, hands-on treatment for tight, strained, overworked or painful muscles and movement problems. It combines soft-tissue techniques, joint mobilisation and movement assessment to help identify the source of discomfort, ease tension, improve mobility and support recovery.
Unlike a general relaxation massage, remedial work is focused and purposeful. Sessions are tailored to what your body needs on the day — whether that is releasing a stubborn muscle, improving range around a joint, or addressing a pattern of tension that has built up over time.
Benefits
- Eases pain, tightness and muscle tension
- Improves mobility and flexibility
- Supports recovery from strain or overuse
- Helps with posture, training load and everyday aches
- Identifies the cause of discomfort, not just the symptom
Why treatment matters
Find the cause
Tension rarely appears out of nowhere. A remedial session assesses how you move, where you hold stress and what may be driving the discomfort — an old injury, training load, desk posture or a single awkward lift.
Restore movement
Tight, guarded muscles change how you move. By releasing the right tissue and restoring range, remedial work helps you get back to comfortable, confident movement.
Protect against recurrence
Left untreated, niggles often become compensations, and compensations become injuries. Early treatment keeps small problems from becoming training setbacks or long-term restrictions.
Maintenance sessions are worth it
One session can make a real difference, but the biggest gains come from consistency. Maintenance Remedial Sports Massage is one of the most effective ways to reduce recurring tension, protect against injury and keep your body moving well over the long term.
Prevent tension before it builds
Regular maintenance sessions catch tightness early, before it limits your movement or turns into a painful problem.
Support consistent training
Whether you are running, lifting, cycling or playing sport, maintenance massage helps your body handle the load and recover between sessions.
Reduce injury risk
Muscle imbalance, restricted joints and overuse patterns are common injury triggers. Maintenance treatment keeps these patterns in check.
Move and feel better, longer
Most clients find that monthly or bi-weekly sessions help them stay mobile, sleep better and perform better in daily life and sport.
Most clients benefit from a session every 3–4 weeks; active training blocks may suit fortnightly visits. Nadya will recommend a plan based on your goals and lifestyle.
